His total assets are valued at ₹6.58 crore, while his liabilities are around ₹1.61 crore. Bose’s annual income has seen a sharp rise, increasing from ₹53.65 lakh in 2019-20 to ₹1.02 crore in 2024-25 — a growth of over 90% in five years. 

However, his wife’s income has dropped significantly from ₹3.39 lakh to just ₹33,490 during the same period.

ED Allegations & Property Investigation

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has alleged that Sujit Bose laundered money from the municipal recruitment scam through shell companies and business establishments. 

According to ED, approximately ₹2.2 crore was transferred to Bose’s personal bank account from his restaurant ‘Bengal Dhaba’ even when the establishment was officially closed during the Covid-19 pandemic. The agency also claims that bribe money was invested in land and other properties via shell companies like Swabhumi Projects Private Limited.

During raids in October 2025, ED seized ₹45 lakh in unexplained cash along with property documents from Bose’s Salt Lake residence and camp office.

Political Career

Sujit Bose served as the MLA from Bidhannagar from 2009 to 2021 and held the Fire and Emergency Services portfolio. He lost the 2026 Assembly election to BJP’s Dr. Sharadwat Mukherjee by over 37,000 votes.
