A cruise boat sank in Madhya Pradesh after being caught in a storm. Reports indicate that many people have lost their lives in this tragedy. Amidst this, a heartbreaking image of a mother and her child has emerged. The mother is holding her child in a tight embrace, while the child, too, clings desperately to her. The mother had faith in herself, and the child placed their trust entirely in their mother. Yet, in the end, both perished in the waters. Until their very last moments, the child never let go of their mother's *anchal* (the loose end of her sari). The mother was wearing a life jacket; had she chosen to, she could have saved her own life. Instead, she sacrificed her own life in an attempt to save that of her child.  Reported by Sanchita chatterjee .
