Based on the clues in that case, the name of Kolkata's Zafar Riaz alias Rizvi came to the fore. Allegedly, he was spying in India for Pakistan's intelligence agency ISI. The wave of mass resignations in TMC-run municipalities in the Barrackpore industrial belt just got stronger. On Thursday, 29 councillors, including the Chairman, resigned en masse from Bhatpara Municipality. Out of 35 wards, 2 councillors had passed away. With 29 out of the remaining 33 quitting, the board has effectively collapsed. The incident has created massive political turmoil in North 24 Parganas. Why the Mass Resignation?
