Mufti Abdul Matin Launches Scathing Attack on Opposition BJP from Trinamool Workers' Meeting

Reported by Sanchita chatterjee: Basirhat: As the Haroa Assembly election approaches, political tensions are steadily escalating. Against this backdrop, the ruling party has launched a vigorous campaign, fronting prominent social worker Mufti Abdul Matin as the Trinamool Congress candidate. Speaking at a workers' meeting organized at Amta Market—located within the Gopalpur No. 2 Gram Panchayat area of the Haroa constituency—he unleashed a fierce attack against the opposition BJP. Addressing the gathering, Matin stated, "The development of the common people is my sole objective." Drawing upon his extensive experience of working alongside local students over many years, he asserted that the Trinamool Congress government has implemented rural development initiatives, healthcare services, and social security schemes in a manner that no other political party has been able to replicate. Taking a jibe at the BJP, he alleged that the party engages solely in the politics of division and possesses no concrete blueprint for development. The Trinamool leadership present at the meeting echoed these sentiments, criticizing the BJP in the same vein. Shafiq Ahmed, the Trinamool President for the Haroa 1 Block, remarked, "The Trinamool Congress remains the only reliable force for maintaining peace and harmony within the state." Meanwhile, Ashraful Amin Bulbul—the Youth General Secretary for Haroa 1 Block and General Secretary for the Gopalpur 2 region—claimed that a significant section of the youth community has now rallied behind the Trinamool Congress. Also present at the meeting were Asadul Mondal, General Secretary of the Gopalpur 2 regional Trinamool unit, and Kamarul Sardar, the regional Youth President. Their speeches, too, emphasized the call to strengthen the party organization and intensify the electoral battle at the booth level. Throughout the entire workers' meeting, a palpable sense of enthusiasm and confidence was evident among the party cadres. Political observers believe that, through this series of meetings and public outreach programs conducted ahead of the polls, the Trinamool Congress aims to further consolidate its organizational base within the Haroa constituency.
