Ahead of the 2026 Assembly Elections: BJP Releases 'Charge Sheet' Against Trinamool*

Reported by Sanchita chatterjee:  Yesterday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah highlighted a range of allegations against the West Bengal government—including charges of corruption—within this charge sheet. Following this, Sukalyan Baidya, the District President of the Basirhat BJP Organizational District, issued a press statement today from the party's district office. In his statement, he brought to light various details regarding the upcoming Assembly elections, specifically exposing multiple instances of corruption involving the Trinamool government. He asserted that individuals ranging from heavyweight state ministers to prominent political leaders have been arrested on various corruption charges. He further argued that the government is plagued by numerous scandals—including job recruitment scams, the ration scam, and illicit trafficking involving coal, cattle, and sand—and therefore has no moral right to remain in power. He declared that the public is turning its back on this administration, making the BJP's victory inevitable, as the people no longer desire a corrupt government.
