Police seized ₹19,000 in cash suspected to be gambling stake money, 3 motorcycles, and a deck of playing cards from the location.

A specific case has been registered against the 4 arrested persons under Sections 3/4 of the Gambling Act. Police said further investigation is underway to find if more people are involved.Police Statement


"Such illegal activities will not be tolerated. We appeal to citizens to share information about gambling dens," said a police official.

Following a long-standing dispute, the West Bengal government has taken a significant step toward clearing the outstanding Dearness Allowance (DA) dues of state government employees and pensioners. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee made an announcement regarding this matter on Sunday afternoon, prior to the declaration of the election schedule in the state.
