  Sanchita chatterjee : Firhad Hakim’s daughters—specifically Priyadarshini Hakim (and, in the past, Shabba Hakim)—have, at various times, publicly expressed their views on political and social issues. In remarks regarding the internal affairs of the Trinamool Congress, Priyadarshini Hakim drew parallels with the *Ramayana* and *Mahabharata* to indirectly take a jibe at Mamata Banerjee, alluding to her as 'Dhritarashtra' and Abhishek Banerjee as 'Duryodhana.' She suggested that the downfall of great empires has historically been precipitated by dynasticism within their ranks.

She asserted that Mamata Banerjee harbors an excessive personal indulgence toward Abhishek Banerjee, and that this very favoritism is the root cause of the party's current dismal state.

Ventilating her frustration with the leadership, she remarked, "Do not shut your eyes; do not turn a deaf ear."

Following a long-standing dispute, the West Bengal government has taken a significant step toward clearing the outstanding Dearness Allowance (DA) dues of state government employees and pensioners. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee made an announcement regarding this matter on Sunday afternoon, prior to the declaration of the election schedule in the state.
