 I participated in the march from Dunlop More to Sinthir More today in support of Sayantika Banerjee, the candidate of Ma-Mati-Manush for Baranagar Assembly. The support, enthusiasm and spontaneous participation of the common people in the march has proven that the people of Baranagar are with the Trinamool Congress for the development of Bengal. I am sure that the people of Bengal are ready to fight against the dictators. 

The party that wants to create division in a united Bengal for political reasons, the party that wants to create communal unrest in the name of religion in a harmonious Bengal – the Trinamool Congress will never back down from fighting against that dictatorial force. These anti-Bangla forces must be given a befitting reply in the upcoming elections through democratic means.

Following a long-standing dispute, the West Bengal government has taken a significant step toward clearing the outstanding Dearness Allowance (DA) dues of state government employees and pensioners. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee made an announcement regarding this matter on Sunday afternoon, prior to the declaration of the election schedule in the state. Notably, even before her announcement, the Finance Department had issued several notifications and memoranda on March 13, stating that the DA arrears—accrued between April 2008 and December 2019—would be cleared in a phased manner.
