NIA notices to 43 leaders of Nandigram ahead of elections, Trinamool warns of counter-measures

BJP claims that NIA can send notices to anyone for the sake of investigation.

There are only a few days left for the elections (WB Assembly Election 2026). The mercury is rising in both the anti-ruling camps. Campaigning is going on. Meanwhile, the activities of the central agency are increasing. Before the elections, the central investigation agency NIA sent notices to 43 Trinamool leaders and activists of Nandigram. This has started a heated debate. Trinamool alleged that notices were sent selectively to those who were engaged in the management of the elections. However, the BJP claims that the NIA can send notices to anyone for the sake of investigation.

Nandigram is the 'high voltage' center in Bengal elections again. On one hand, BJP's candidate is the opposition leader Shuvendu Adhikari, on the other hand, Trinamool has fielded his former close friend Pavitra Kar. Some are reluctant to give up even a little land for the Nandigram election campaign. But the politics of Nandigram is gradually heating up around the NIA notice. It is learned that NIA notices have been served on Nandigram Block 1 Trinamool Core Committee members Bappaditya Garg, Shamsul Islam, Panchayat Samiti members, and regional presidents. Not only that, it is reported that notices from the Central Investigation Agency have also been sent to the houses of booth-level leaders and activists. It is also reported that several people have already received the notice. Where they have been ordered to appear at the AIA office in Kolkata on April 17. The tension has started around this notice on the eve of the elections.
