Joy S. Kamdar, the businessman from Behala, could not be produced in court today.

Reported by Sanchita chatterjee: On Sunday afternoon, following a prolonged interrogation, the ED arrested Jay S. Kamdar, the Managing Director of 'Sun Enterprise'. While being transported for a medical examination, he fell ill and is currently undergoing treatment at R.G. Kar Medical College and Hospital.


Court Directive: Although the arrested individual was scheduled to be produced before the Bankshall Court today, this could not be done due to his physical illness. The Court has directed that he must be produced before the court by Tuesday (April 21); alternatively, a detailed medical report regarding his physical condition must be submitted.

Following a long-standing dispute, the West Bengal government has taken a significant step toward clearing the outstanding Dearness Allowance (DA) dues of state government employees and pensioners. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee made an announcement regarding this matter on Sunday afternoon, prior to the declaration of the election schedule in the state. Notably, even before her announcement, the Finance Department had issued several notifications and memoranda on March 13, stating that the DA arrears—accrued between April 2008 and December 2019—would be cleared in a phased manner.
