51st All India Inter Schools' Regatta 2026 Sets Sail at Rabindra Sarobar

 Reported by Sanchita chatterjee: KOLKATA — The Lake Club Ltd. is organizing the 51st All India Invitation Inter Schools' Regatta from 24th May to 30th May 2026 at Rabindra Sarobar. Recognized by the Rowing Federation of India as an event of national importance, the regatta has been held annually since 1973.

Often called the "Nursery of Indian Rowing", the event has been instrumental in the resurgence of rowing in Bengal. Every year, approximately 200 students from 45 schools participate in what entered the Limca Book of Records in 2013 as the largest rowing event, with over 450 oarspersons.

Participation is completely free for all students. The Lake Club provides training, boats, gym facilities, and complete race organization at no cost.

Events & Categories for 2026

Events include Indoor Rowing, Coxed Fours, and Double Sculls. Categories are split into Junior Boys and Girls for students up to Class X, and Senior Boys and Girls for Classes XI and XII.

Alumni Making Waves on National Stage

Shweta Brahmachari: Participated in 20+ nationals with 15 gold medals. Bronze medal at 37th National Games Goa in single sculls. Bronze at Asian Indoor Rowing Championship 2025 with Pratik Gupta. Gold at All India Indoor Championship 2026.

Pratik Gupta: Won the first double scull medal for Bengal in 30 years at Senior Nationals 2026 with Akshay. Secured 2 Golds at All India University Championship. Gold at All India Indoor Championship 2026 with Shweta.
