 A CID team visited the Santiniketan and Kalighat residences of Trinamool MP Abhishek Banerjee to investigate a case involving alleged signature forgery within the Legislative Assembly. Investigators served a notice at his home, summoning him to appear at Bhabani  Bhavan on Monday in connection with this matter. 

Reason for the Summons: The CID visited his residence specifically to investigate allegations of signature forgery within the Legislative Assembly.

Issuance of Notice: The investigative team served the notice—by affixing it to his residence and handing copies to his staff—directing him to appear at the CID headquarters, Bhabani Bhavan, on Monday (June 1) at 11:00 AM.

Abhishek's Response: Following this incident, Abhishek Banerjee stated that he would extend his full cooperation to the CID, but emphasized that he would not be intimidated or cowed down by such tactics.

The West Bengal Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has officially summoned Trinamool Congress (TMC) National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee to appear at its Bhabani Bhavan headquarters at noon on Monday, June 1, 2026, for questioning in an alleged Legislative Assembly signature forgery case
