Sanchita chatterjee:On 26.04.2026, Kaliachak PS received a credible information of brown sugar manufacturing in Litchi Orchard of Narayanpur. Based on the input, an operation was conducted between 09:30 hrs to 14:35 hrs and one accused person namely Toushif Alam S/O Rafikul Sk of Balugram, Mozampur , PS- Kliachak , Dist- Malda was arrested from the litchi orchard namely Dida math near pagla river on the back side of Narayanpur under Kalaichak P.S. along with the following seized articles.

one steel container having lid containing brown Colour liquid which was tested positive for Brown sugar , with Govt. Provided testing kit weighing approx. – 4.802 kg  (total).

 one transparent polypacket containing white colour substance which is locally known as sodium   having approx. weight – 5.040 kg.

 one blue colour bowl of big size.

one 20 ltrs plastic jaar – empty. 

The accused person has been forwarded before the Ld Court on 27.04.2026 with prayer of PC remand for 07 days.

Raids are being conducted to arrest his associates.

Following a long-standing dispute, the West Bengal government has taken a significant step toward clearing the outstanding Dearness Allowance (DA) dues of state government employees and pensioners. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee made an announcement regarding this matter on Sunday afternoon, prior to the declaration of the election schedule in the state.
