Harbhajan Singh join the BJP

As of April 24, 2026, cricketer-turned-politician Harbhajan Singh is reported to be among seven Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MPs leaving the party to join the BJP, marking a significant split in the AAP's upper house representation. Raghav Chadha is reportedly leading this exodus, which includes Swati Maliwal, Sandeep Pathak, Ashok Mittal, Rajinder Gupta, and Vikram Sahni.

indicate that two-thirds of AAP’s Rajya Sabha MPs are leaving, with many joining the BJP.

The move is reportedly driven by internal tensions and dissatisfaction with the party’s direction, with leaders alleging the party shifted from its original, honest promise.

This development is viewed as a major setback for the Arvind Kejriwal-led party, coming amidst, and following, various investigations.
