Reported by Sanchita chatterjee  March 20,2026  kolkata: Release of the Election Manifesto by Smt. Mamata Banerjee.

With deep reverence, I present before you my 10 ‘Pledges’ for Bengal, ensuring that the wheels of development continue to move forward uninterruptedly during the fourth term of my government.

Under the ‘Lakshmir Bhandar’ scheme, following a monthly increase of ₹500, beneficiaries belonging to the General Category will receive a monthly financial assistance of ₹1,500 (₹18,000 annually), while beneficiaries from the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST) categories will receive ₹1,700 per month (₹20,400 annually).

I will continue the ‘Banglar Jubo-Sathi’ scheme, through which I will persist in providing financial assistance of ₹1,500 per month (₹18,000 annually) to unemployed youth.

I further pledge to introduce an ‘Agriculture Budget’ of ₹30,000 crore, aimed at providing uninterrupted support to farming families, standing by landless farmers, and ensuring the holistic development of the agricultural sector.

I pledge that every family in Bengal will possess a permanent, concrete home of their own, and every household will be equipped with a piped water supply system for drinking water.

Furthermore, to ensure that healthcare services reach people’s doorsteps, my government will organize ‘Duare Chikitsa’ (Healthcare at Doorstep) camps annually in every block and town across the state.

Under the ‘Banglar Shikshayatan’ scheme, I will ensure the comprehensive modernization and development of infrastructure across all government schools in the state.

I will continue to work towards establishing Bengal as the gateway to trade in Eastern India by developing world-class logistics systems, ports, trade infrastructure, and a state-of-the-art ‘Global Trade Center.’

I will strive to ensure that the old-age pension assistance remains uninterrupted for those currently receiving it; simultaneously, I will take initiatives to bring all eligible senior citizens under the ambit of this social safety net in a phased manner.  I further pledge that, through a comprehensive process of geographical reorganization, I will create seven new districts and increase the number of Urban Local Bodies.

These 10 ‘pledges’ will serve as the bedrock of my administration and act as the roadmap for my government over the next five years.
