Reported by  Sanchita chatterjee ,World Heart Day was celebrated at Naihati under the banner of the Association of Physicians of India (API) with an emphasis on cardiovascular disease prevention and public awareness.

As part of the programme, universal screening for Lipoprotein(a) [Lp(a)] was conducted to identify individuals with an important, often under-recognised cardiovascular risk factor.

This was followed by an interactive heart-health awareness session, focusing on the importance of early detection, prevention, healthy lifestyle practices, and regular cardiovascular risk assessment.

The initiative aimed to spread the message that prevention and awareness are the

cornerstones of a healthier heart and a healthier community.

A meaningful step towards creating greater awareness of cardiovascular health under the banner of API.

World Heart Day under API umbrella being observed in NAIHATI by Prof Dr H S Pathak and Dr Ankan Pathak.
