West Bengal Sports Minister Dr. Indranil Khan was felicitated at a special 'Meet The Press' program organized by the Calcutta Sports Journalists' Club on Tuesday evening.

The event served as an important platform for Dr. Khan to interact with members of the sports media fraternity in Kolkata. During the session, the minister outlined his roadmap for the future development of sports across the state. The primary focus of the discussion was on creating a cleaner, greener, and corruption-free environment in West Bengal's sporting ecosystem.

Dr. Indranil Khan patiently answered a wide range of questions posed by the journalists present at the venue. He assured that the state government is fully committed to the upliftment of sports and sportspersons at all levels. A key promise made by the Sports Minister was to make every playground in the state more vibrant, well-maintained, and free from malpractice.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Khan emphasized the government's dedication to supporting athletes from the grassroots level. He stated that identifying and nurturing young talent from districts and rural areas will be a top priority for his department. Following a long-standing dispute, the West Bengal government has taken a significant step toward clearing the outstanding Dearness Allowance (DA) dues of state government employees and pensioners.
