Explodia 2026: Young Designers Dazzle at NIF Global Saltlake’s Annual Exhibition





‘Explodia 2026’—the annual fashion and lifestyle exhibition—was held at the Platinum Centre of NIF Global, located in Salt Lake, Kolkata. With years of experience under its belt, this Centre of Excellence is a renowned name in the fields of fashion and interior design education. What Was on Display at Explodia 2026?

At this exhibition, students enrolled in B.Voc, B.Des, and M.Voc programs—as well as those pursuing 2-year certificate courses—showcased their work. The central theme this year was "The Fusion of Artistic Innovation and Creativity." Drawing inspiration from diverse sources, the students successfully blended traditional craftsmanship with innovative concepts.



The exhibited collections can be broadly categorized into four segments. First, handcrafted luxury *haute couture* ensembles. Second, denim and ready-to-wear apparel designed for the mid-segment market. Third, avant-garde creations and garment upcycling; in this section, old garments were deconstructed and reconstructed to give them a brand-new form. Fourth, collections inspired by organic foliage and the geometrically defined skylines of urban landscapes.


Beyond the Realm of Fashion

Explodia 2026 was not limited solely to clothing. Lifestyle products inspired by traditional Indian textiles—and crafted during a sustainable workshop in Shantiniketan—were also featured at the event. Additionally, a special collection for women, inspired by calligraphy from across the globe, was put on display. To present the students' work directly to the audience, a fashion show was also organized.  **Placements and International Exposure**

According to information provided by the institution, they offer students lifelong employment opportunities and continuous career support. They claim that over 98% of their fashion design students have secured jobs across India. It has been reported that their alumni are currently working with renowned brands such as Sabyasachi Kolkata, Adidas, Zara, Vero Moda, Nike, Jack & Jones, and Calvin Klein.


Sources within the institution indicate that, to gain experience on the international stage, students have participated in various prestigious events, including London Fashion Week, Dubai Fashion Week, New York Fashion Week, and Lakmé Fashion Week.
