 Reported by Sanchita chatterjee:  The huge support, enthusiasm and spontaneous presence of the common people in the march from the college ground to the Jagannath temple in the new market in support of the candidate of Ma-Mati-Manush in the Midnapore assembly constituency today has clearly proven that the residents of Midnapore are with the Trinamool Congress for the progress of Bengal. I firmly believe that the people of Bengal are fully ready to fight against the autocratic forces.


The power that wants to create division in a united Bengal for the sake of political interests, the power that wants to incite communal unrest by misusing religion in a harmonious Bengal - that autocratic evil force; must be completely uprooted from this harmonious Bengal through democratic means.  To give a befitting reply to the anti-Bengali people, I appeal to all language-speaking people, regardless of caste, religion or colour - please vote for all Trinamool Congress candidates in Bengal, including the candidate for the Midnapore assembly constituency, Sujoy Hazra, with the double flower symbol and make them win by a huge margin.

Following a long-standing dispute, the West Bengal government has taken a significant step toward clearing the outstanding Dearness Allowance (DA) dues of state government employees and pensioners. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee made an announcement regarding this matter on Sunday afternoon, prior to the declaration of the election schedule in the state. Notably, even before her announcement, the Finance Department had issued several notifications and memoranda on March 13, stating that the DA arrears—accrued between April 2008 and December 2019—would be cleared in a phased manner.
