Commercial vehicles will be entitled to cross toll plazas up to 200 times.

:  s Reported by Sanchita chatterjee: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has increased the fee for the 'FASTag Annual Pass' for private vehicles from ₹3,000 to ₹3,075 for the 2026-27 fiscal year; this revised rate will come into effect on April 1, 2026. For this specific pass, this represents a marginal inflation-linked increase (approximately 2.5%), which entitles the holder to cross toll plazas up to 200 times within a one-year period. Key details regarding the amendment to the FASTag Annual Pass are as follows:

New Rate: The new price for the annual pass for non-commercial (private) vehicles is now ₹3,075.

Effective Date: This revised fee will be effective from April 1, 2026.

Validity: The pass will remain valid for a period of one year or until the vehicle has crossed a toll plaza 200 times—whichever occurs earlier.

Applicability: This rule applies to private vehicles (cars, jeeps, vans) across approximately 1,150 'fee plazas' located on National Highways and Expressways.

Purchase Channels: The pass can be purchased via the 'Rajmargyatra' mobile application or through the NHAI website.

Purpose: This fee hike is primarily an annual inflation-linked adjustment based on the 'Wholesale Price Index' (WPI).

Note: This fee increase applies exclusively to the special 'Annual Pass' facility introduced for frequent travelers. For standard FASTag usage (under the 'pay-per-use' model), the current rates will remain unchanged.
