Historic change in rations

 Reported by Sanchita chatterjee:

The Centre is set to bring a major historic change in the ration system, where it plans to transfer money directly to the bank account of the beneficiary (DBT) instead of rice and wheat. It has been launched on a trial basis in some states and this system is being implemented through e-rupee digital vouchers in collaboration with SBI.

Money in bank account: Instead of taking rice and wheat from ration shops, money of the same value will be available directly in the bank account.

Digital voucher: There is a plan to use e-rupee (e-RUPI) digital vouchers through SBI.

Cost-effective system: The central government believes that this system will save a lot of money compared to the distribution of food grains Asianet News Bangla.

Reduction in rice quota: In addition, it has been decided to reduce the amount of rice and increase the amount of wheat and flour in the ration system Facebook.

The aim of this step is to curb ration corruption and increase transparency.
