Sanjay Kumar Saha took a courageous and exceptional step to curb the rampant black marketing of special cigarettes in Shamsherganj. On Thursday, he set up temporary stalls in various important areas of Shamsherganj

and handed over packets of special cigarettes directly to customers at the government-fixed price, i.e., only 60 rupees.

Sanjay Kumar Saha said that currently, a class of unscrupulous traders in the market are selling packets of special cigarettes at prices ranging from 90 to 100 rupees, which is completely illegal and tantamount to cheating the common people. He clearly stated,

“If anyone sells cigarettes at a higher price using my name, I will never accept it. I myself am the only authorized distributor of special cigarettes in Shamsherganj. If anyone outside of me sells them for 90-100 rupees, then that is black marketing.”

He further added that this initiative is to protect the interests of ordinary buyers. These stalls have been set up with the aim of ensuring that people get cigarettes at fair prices and to stop the tyranny of black marketeers.

The stalls were overflowing with crowds that day. Ordinary customers were happy to get cigarettes at the fixed price. Many welcomed this initiative and said that in a situation where the price of cigarettes is being illegally increased in the market, this step taken by Sanjay Kumar Saha is truly commendable.  According to local sources, this initiative will not only expose black marketeers but will also set a significant precedent for protecting the interests of ordinary people in the future. The organizer himself stated that the operation was conducted to restore transparency in the market for special cigarettes in Shamsherganj.
