Kolkata, 27th January, 2026: The Bengal Super League marked the official build-up to its knockout phase at the historic East Bengal Club following the successful conclusion of a competitive and closely fought group stage, with all four semi-finalists, JHR Royal City FC Malda | Murshidabad, Howrah Hooghly Warriors, Sundarban Bengal Auto FC and North 24 Parganas FC assembling under one roof ahead of the decisive matches.



The teams were accompanied by their respective Head Coaches and Captains. JHR Royal City FC Malda | Murshidabad were represented by Mr Saheed Ramon, Head Coach and Mr Salman K, Captain. Howrah Hooghly Warriors were represented by Mr Jose Barreto, Head Coach and Mr Avilash Paul, Captain. Sundarban Bengal Auto FC were represented by Mr Mehtab Hossain, Head Coach and Mr Richmond Kwasi Owusu, Captain, alongside North 24 Parganas FC, who were represented by Mr Gautam Ghosh, Head Coach and Mr Ankan Bhattacharjee, Captain.





Also present at the conference were former Indian national team footballers and East Bengal legends, Mr Bhaskar Ganguly and Mr Alvito D’Cunha, who serve as Technical Officers of the Bengal Super League. The BSL Committee was represented by Mr Pranjal Banerjee, League Commissioner, Bengal Super League, and Mr Debaditya Das, Chief Executive Officer, Bengal Super League.

“The group stage was extremely demanding, with matches coming thick and fast and very little time to recover. The players pushed themselves every day, managed fatigue and stayed committed to the way we wanted to play. Having come through that phase, there is a strong sense of excitement and anticipation in the squad. Knockout matches reward teams that are brave, focused and mentally sharp and we are looking forward to testing ourselves when it matters most.” Said Mr Jose Barreto, Head Coach, Howrah Hooghly Warriors.

Following the press conference, the Bengal Super League Trophy Tour was ceremonially flagged off from the East Bengal Ground. The Trophy Tour will proceed to visit the iconic football institutions of Mohun Bagan and Mohammedan Sporting Club, celebrating Bengal’s rich footballing heritage, before concluding at the Kalyani Stadium, the venue for the Bengal Super League Final.

The knockout phase of the Bengal Super League will begin with the first leg of Semi Final One between JHR Royal City FC Malda Murshidabad and North 24 Parganas FC at the East Bengal Ground on 28th January at 1.00 pm as part of a double header, followed by the first leg of Semi Final Two between Howrah Hooghly Warriors and Sundarban Bengal Auto FC at the Kalyani Stadium on the same day at 4.00 pm. The second leg of Semi Final Two will be played at the East Bengal Ground on 30th January at 1.00 pm as part of a double header, while the second leg of Semi Final One will take place later that day at the Kalyani Stadium at 5.00 pm. The Bengal Super League Final will be played between the winners of the two semi-finals at the Kalyani Stadium on Sunday, 1st February at 4.00 pm.
