   The Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) has revealed in its recent audit report for the financial year 2024-25 that there was no 'Utilization Certificate' (UC) or proof of use of expenditure of Rs 54,282.32 crore under 15 ministries of the central government.   reported by Sanchita chatterjee: The report raises major questions about the financial transparency and accountability of the central government.  Huge financial discrepancies: As on March 31, 2025, no expenditure certificates were submitted in a total of 33,973 cases, totaling Rs 54,282.32 crore. The Ministry of Housing and Urban Development has the highest unaccounted for Rs 18,272.91 crore. The Department of Higher Education has not submitted any certificates of Rs 14,359.76 crore.
